Fungal species, there is just about a single kind that goes with Apophysomyces and that is Apophysomyces elegans. Apophysomyces elegans as such come as a rare infection to humans. When it comes to features, Apophysomyces elegans are seen as fluffy and more so they look and feel like cotton. The cases like these are not usual to occur, but statistics suggest that about 5 cases of an infection of this kind have been reported and there could be more as such. It can strike hard on healthy people as well. The 5 cases that were brought to notice by a study had to be treated with only surgery.
