Alternaria sp. Is a genes of mold comes which is under
the classification of ubiquitous or by defination these mold
sean to be everywhere. The species number comes approximately
in between 40 to 50. The size as spor ranges between say 20
to some 200 microns as far as the length is concerned, to
check that in width then it would be somewhere in between
7 to 18 microns as seen in microscopic picture above. This
kind of fungus as such has the atomic weight ranging from
0.85 to 0.88.

They are found quite often in the soil. But they also found
on food, when the food is left open or untouched, or if it
is cut and placed open without any protection, then it is
inevitable for this type of mold to possibly end up on the
food. Weakened plants also can have Alternaria sp. Alternaria
sp. present on it. So is the case of dead organic that comes
from something that is broken down and also from textiles.
They are commonly and easily found in samples that are related
more to the outdoors. This fungus holds the potential to produce
toxicins that can be connected with problems of infections
that it can be found in humans and also in animals.
They diffuse very easily in the wind or by the means of dry
spore. This fungus is considered something that can cause
allergy. There are classified as type 1 and type 2 allergies.
Under the type 1, one is expected to experience fever and
also asthma. The type 3 as such can get one to experience
respiratory problems as lung infections such as woodworkers
lung and also apple store hypersensitivity. The potential
regions that this kind of fungus can grow in the nasal region
nail infection, people who use immunosuppressive drugs and
also people with underlying diseases can experience this condition.
This fungus as such can produce a toxic substance like metabolites
that include alternariol monomethylether, altertoxins and
tenuazonic acid. In terms of industrial uses, this is used
for biocontrol of weeds and also few other plants. Like other
fungus, this kind is not related much to the temperature,
as it cannot grow if the temperature is more than 37 degree
Celsius.
When it comes to growth, they grow well on the general fungus
that is collected. The colonies as such are dark green to
brownish. They also sporulate, the texture as such becomes
velvety. With the passing time however, they lose their ability
as such to sporulate.
To know how they are in appearance, well they are more distinctive.
The spores as such can or may sometimes look like Ulocladium,
Stemphylium or Pithomyces. To see how evident they are, then
one could check them on the tape lift samples as they are
very much identifiable.
This fungus as such is known to destroy 20% of the crops
and mostly comes with massive infections in humans. With the
toxics that it produces, allergies are common but infections
are rare, but more so it also depends on the individuals immune
system. So it is always better to get checked, as the after
effects as such may not be very pleasing.
